Cathriona Murphy is a graduate of the Master of Arts in Ethnochoreology (the study of dance and movement in different cultures), University of Limerick, and her MA thesis focused on the transmission of Latin-American dance. She has immense teaching experience spanning a cross-section of social and cultural settings and has lectured on many programmes within the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick. She has a broad performance history spanning a number of dance genres, with an extensive track record of performance in Latin-American dance forms.
Cathriona is also the Director of an Arts Promotion Company which founded iSalsa Live, a Latin dance/music company that explores the intimate relationship between music and dance. She has travelled extensively – UK, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Holland, Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia, Africa, United States, Mexico and Cuba – undertaking field-research into Latin American
